About Us

Lifework Leadership was established in 1992 with the vision of bringing vitality to cities by transforming and mobilizing Christian business leaders. It is based in Orlando, Florida.

Lifework was birthed through the vision of former U.S. Senator William Armstrong (CO) who envisioned a nation that could be transformed through leaders who had a clear calling and Christian worldview. Armstrong challenged Ralph D. Veerman, of Veerman & Associates and Larry Kreider, President of The Gathering USA, Inc. to be founding partners in 1992. Our model was refined in 2000 with the appointment of Steven French as President. French brought Lifework's staff, program and curriculum to a position that enabled its model of leadership transformation to be transferable to other cities. From our inception, our desired outcome has been - "transformed leaders lead to transformed cities"

Originally known as The Greater Orlando Leadership Foundation (GOLF), our founders desire was to develop a new generation of leadership in the Greater Orlando area that would transform our businesses, homes, churches and ultimately their city. By the fall of 2006, our program had grown to a community of over 500 alumni that was bringing vitality to our city. As a result, we changed our name to Lifework Leadership to reflect the hope that our community would move beyond Orlando. Affiliates were established in Pittsburgh and Fort Lauderdale and the lessons learned from those two pilot programs enabled Lifework to offer our model to other cities. Presently, there are affiliates in Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Palm Beach, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Northeast Ohio (Cleveland), and Pittsburgh. To compliment Lifework's potential for growth, its Board of Directors voted in 2008 to become a division of The Gathering/USA, Inc. The merger gave Lifework a broader base of operations and financial accountability.
